دور الجامعة في خدمة المجتمع في ضوء الاتجاهات العالمية الحديثة

(دراسة ميدانية على عينة من أعضاء الهيئة التعليمية في الكليات الطبية بجامعة عدن)

هدفتالدراسة إلى التعرف إلى دور الجامعة في خدمة المجتمع في ضوء الاتجاهات العالميةالحديثة، من خلال دراسة ميدانية على الكليات الطبية بجامعة عدن، ولتحقيق هدفالدراسة أتبعت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتم تصميم استبانة مكونة من (51)فقرة، بحيث تغطي متغيرات الدراسة، وتكون مجتمع الدراسة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس فيالكليات الطبية (كلية الطب والعلوم الصحية، وكلية طب الأسنان، وكلية الصيدلة)، وقدبلغ عدد أفراد هذا المجتمع (482) عضوًا، وباستخدام أسلوب العينة الطبقية العشوائيةوزِعت (120) استبانة على عينة الدراسة، وقد اُستردت(102) استبانة بنسبة (85%)، واستخدمتمجموعة من الأساليب الإحصائية لتحليل بيانات الدراسة باستخدام برنامج الحزمةالإحصائية للعلوم الاجتماعية . وتوصلتالدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج على النحو الآتي:

1.    المستوىالكلي: حقق دور الجامعة في خدمة المجتمع في كافة المجالات الأربعة متوسطًا حسابيًاقدره (2.91)، وبوزن مئوي بلغ (58%)، وهو ما يشير إلى أن دور الجامعة جاء بدرجة(متوسطة) بصفة عامة وجاء ترتيب مجالات دور الجامعة (تنازلياً) على النحو الآتي:

�   المركزالأول: مجال "واقع الممارسات المجتمعية لأعضاء هيئة التدريس"، بمتوسطحسابي (3.13) ووزن مئوي (63%)، وبدرجة دور (متوسطة).

�   المركزالثاني: مجال "ربط التخصص الأكاديمي بالخدمة المجتمعية في الكلياتالطبية"، بمتوسط حسابي (3.00) ووزن مئوي (60%)، وبدرجة دور (متوسطة).

�   المركزالثالث: مجال "الاتجاهات العالمية الحديثة ودورها في خدمة المجتمع"،بمتوسط حسابي (2.87) ووزن مئوي (57%)، وبدرجة دور (متوسطة).

�   المركزالرابع: مجال "دور جامعة عدن في خدمة المجتمع"، بمتوسط حسابي (2.64)ووزن مئوي (53%)، وبدرجة دور (متوسطة).

2.    ​التحدياتوالمعوقات: أظهرت النتائج أن التحديات والمعوقات التي تواجه الجامعة جاءت بدرجة(عالية جداً)، حيث سجلت متوسطًا حسابيًا مرتفعًا قدره (4.24) ووزن مئوي بلغ (85%).

3.    أظهرتنتائج الدراسة عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (0.05) تُعزىلمتغير النوع في مجالات دور الجامعة في خدمة المجتمع، والاتجاهات العالمية الحديثةودورها في خدمة المجتمع، وربط التخصص الأكاديمي بالخدمة المجتمعية، في حين وُجدتفروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مجالي واقع الممارسات المجتمعية والتحديات والمعوقات؛حيث جاءت الفروق في واقع الممارسات المجتمعية لمصلحة الذكور، وفي مجال التحدياتوالمعوقات لمصلحة الإناث.

4.    أظهرتنتائج الدراسة وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (0.05) تُعزى لمتغيرالرتبة الأكاديمية في مجالي واقع الممارسات المجتمعية وربط التخصص الأكاديميبالخدمة المجتمعية، وجاءت هذه الفروق لمصلحة الأستاذ في المجال الأول، ولمصلحةالأستاذ مشارك في المجال الثاني، بينما لم تظهر فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في بقيةمجالات الدراسة.

5.    أظهرتالنتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (0.05) تُعزى لمتغيرسنوات الخبرة في جميع مجالات الدراسة، مما يدل على تقارب آراء أعضاء هيئة التدريسبغض النظر عن سنوات خبرتهم حول دور الجامعة في خدمة المجتمع.

6.    كشفتالنتائج عن وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05) تُعزى لمتغير الكلية فيمجالي الاتجاهات العالمية الحديثة ودورها في خدمة المجتمع والتحديات والمعوقات، فيحين لم تظهر أي فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في بقية المجالات؛ حيث جاءت الفروق لمصلحةكلية الصيدلة في مجال الاتجاهات العالمية الحديثة، ولمصلحة كلية الطب والجراحة فيمجال التحديات والمعوقات.

المقترحات  التي اوصت بها الباحثة:

�   إجراءدراسة لتقييم دور جامعة عدن في خدمة المجتمع من وجهة نظر الطلاب بالكليات الطبية.

�   إجراءدراسة للتعرف على آراء أعضاء هيئة التدريس حول معوقات تحقيق جامعة عدن لدورهاالمجتمعي ووضع الحلول المناسبة.

�   دراسة دورالشراكات بين جامعة عدن ومؤسسات المجتمع المحلي في تعزيز خدمة المجتمع وتحقيقالفائدة المرجوة.

�    إجراء دراسة مقارنة حول خدمة المجتمع في الكليات التي حصلت علىالاعتماد الوطني من مجلس الاعتماد الأكاديمي وكشف أثر الاعتماد على جودة الأنشطةالمجتمعية.

�    إجراء دراسة مقارنة بين جامعة عدن وجامعة خاصة لتقييم أثر خدمةالمجتمع على الطلاب والمجتمع المحلي وكشف الفروق في الأداء والالتزام.

Summaryof the Study

The Roleof the University in Community Service in Light of Contemporary Global Trends
A Field Study on a Sample of Faculty Members in the Medical Colleges at theUniversity of Aden

This study aimed to identify the role ofthe university in community service in light of contemporary global trendsthrough a field study conducted in the medical colleges at the University ofAden. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher adopted thedescriptive-analytical approach. A questionnaire consisting of (51) items wasdesigned to cover the study variables. The study population comprised facultymembers in the medical colleges, totaling (482) faculty members. Using astratified random sampling method, (120) questionnaires were distributed, ofwhich (102) were retrieved, representing a response rate of (85%). A range ofstatistical methods was employed to analyze the data using the StatisticalPackage for the Social Sciences (SPSS).

The study reached the following results:

1.  Overall Level:Theoverall role of the university in community service across the four domainsachieved a mean score of (2.91) with a percentage weight of (58%),indicating that the university’s role in community service was at a moderatelevel in general. The domains of the university’s role were ranked indescending order as follows:

�       First place: Thedomain of “The reality of community practices of faculty members”, with amean score of (3.13) and a percentage weight of (63%), indicatinga moderate level.

�       Second place: Thedomain of “Linking academic specialization with community service in medicalcolleges”, with a mean score of (3.00) and a percentage weight of (60%),indicating a moderate level.

�       Third place: Thedomain of “Global modern trends and their role in community service”, witha mean score of (2.87) and a percentage weight of (57%),indicating a moderate level.

�       Fourth place: Thedomain of “The role of the University of Aden in community service”, with amean score of (2.64) and a percentage weight of (53%), indicatinga moderate level.

2.  Challenges andObstacles:The results also revealed that the challenges and obstacles facingthe university were rated at a very high level, with a high mean scoreof (4.24) and a percentage weight of (85%).

3.  The results showedno statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) attributable tothe gender variable in the domains of the university’s role in communityservice, contemporary global trends and their role in community service, andlinking academic specialization to community service. However, statisticallysignificant differences were found in the domains of community servicepractices and challenges and obstacles, where the differences in communityservice practices favored males, while differences in challenges and obstaclesfavored females.

4.  Statisticallysignificant differences at the level of (0.05) were found attributable to theacademic rank variable in the domains of community service practices andlinking academic specialization to community service. These differences were infavor of professors in the first domain and associate professors in the seconddomain, whereas no statistically significant differences were observed in theremaining domains of the study.

5.  Theresults indicated no statistically significant differences at the level of(0.05) attributable to the years of experience variable across all studydomains, reflecting a convergence of faculty members’ perceptions regardless oftheir years of experience regarding the university’s role in community service.

6.  The findingsrevealed statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05)attributable to the college variable in the domains of contemporary globaltrends and their role in community service, and challenges and obstacles. Nostatistically significant differences were found in the remaining domains. Thedifferences favored the Faculty of Pharmacy in the domain of contemporaryglobal trends, and the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in the domain ofchallenges and obstacles.

In light of the findings of the fieldstudy conducted at the University of Aden, and within the framework of theuniversity’s overall societal role, the researcher recommends the following:

1.  Developing theinstitutional structure for community activities and establishing clearimplementation mechanisms.

2.  Developing anapplied plan that translates contemporary global trends into practical projectsand initiatives within the university, linking them to faculty performance andmonitoring clear indicators to ensure effective implementation.

3.  Encouragingindividual participation through incentives and certificates of appreciation,and acknowledging contributors’ efforts.

4.  Developing practicalplans to link community activities to real societal needs, measure theirimpact, review curricula and courses, and align them with labor marketrequirements.

5.  Including communityservice activities among the requirements for academic promotion and tenure.

6.  Establishing theposition of Vice President of the University for Community Service to overseecommunity service departments in the colleges.

7.  Allocating an annualbudget to support community activities and services in each college.

8.  Appointingspecialized teams within the university and colleges to manage partnershipswith civil society institutions and establish clear mechanisms for cooperationto effectively utilize available opportunities.

9.   Providingtangible and continuous incentives for faculty members, including financialrewards, certificates of appreciation, and opportunities to participate ininternational conferences, and linking these incentives to actual communityparticipation to enhance motivation.

10.              Organizing workshopsand awareness programs within orientation programs for new faculty members tofamiliarize them with the concept and objectives of community service andensure its integration as a core component of university culture and academicperformance.

11.              The study recommendsmandating early academic ranks (teaching assistants and lecturers) to activelyand systematically participate in community service activities, linking theirparticipation to academic evaluation and promotion requirement

12.              Establishing clearmechanisms to collect and follow up on community feedback and periodicallyassess beneficiaries’ satisfaction.
